Review on πŸš— Enhanced Performance: Timken HA593427 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly by Matt Minette

Revainrating 1 out of 5

No more competition and inferior external control!

First, if it's stamped "Made in Korea" it probably has the same ABS defect as the Moog made in the same factory. Apparently there is no more competition. Most of the legacy companies no longer make their parts to be competitive and produce parts that are better quality than their competitors. I bought a Moog bearing from an advanced auto parts store if you know what I mean, and the Moog bearing was missing half of the black ABS rubber protective cover. The manager ordered the last 4 from his stock and they all had the same defect. Where the hell is quality control!? Exposed metal contacts will corrode or rust. In short, a worldwide recall has begun. I bought 2 of these bearings here at Revain, they look exactly like the Moogs, were made in Korea and had the same ABS defect and the Timkens had an additional manufacturing defect. The hole in the hub bearing must have a chamfered countersink for the rotor locking screw. The Timken bearing lacks this essential feature, so if you tighten the rotor to the hub it won't work. So now when big companies place their orders with the same factories abroad and those bearings have the same production numbers and country of manufacture, then the name of whoever sells the bearings is also stamped on the bearing. So if quality control is sloppy, whala, bugs in thousands of parts. Both bearings will be returned.

Pros
  • Packing height 11.938 cm
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged.
