I really like these boots. I've never had to use them, so I really don't have anything to compare other than a bucket. I ordered from Amazon Prime for two day delivery because I needed to quickly soak an abscess that was popping up just below my gelding's coronary ring. The delivery was delayed and I only received it afterwards, but I may use it in the future to treat thrush outbreaks or other abscesses. These boots were larger than I originally expected but appeared to be made out of thick fabric. I put my hand in and it went from my arm almost to my shoulder. I did not use the foam pads as I was just testing my horse's soak and boot training but they were dense and durable. The extra velcro straps were nice, but they didn't fit too snugly on my medium-sized quarter horse and the boot wobbled a bit from the weight of some liquid on the bottom as it got out of the way. For a small horse or pony you can use Vetwrap for protection. I would recommend these bathing boots without hesitation. I prefer them to a bucket. They are cheaper compared to others for the price and you can get two boots instead of one for $30 at your local TSC.
