Well first thing to always note with heaters is whether or not they are a hazard. This heater definitely gets warm enough to melt something on the back side of it if there is no air flow in the room on high heat. One thing that the directions did not mention is you should mount it a safe distance from all things INCLUDING the ceiling. If those precautionary measures are made and it is mounted securely enough this heater seems extremely safe. I'm not sure if I've ever had any electric heater that seemed this safe because even if a position switch or a contact switch or a tip switch or even a thermal cutoff switch were to fail on any other heater it could be DEVASTATING if you are not around to monitor it. All that said these are the reasons why this heater seems extremely safe to me because no matter what safety could fail on this thing it appears it will not leave your surroundings in a blaze or even smoke. You would have to hang on this heater or rip it off the wall for it to not be safe as long as you keep the bolts tight. I have to say the remote is a game changer when it comes to heaters. I live completely off grid nothing but solar and it is very nice to be able to control how much energy usage you have by a wireless remote without even getting out of bed. I installed this above my bed as I am not finished insulating my home. I will reposition it to a more Central area when my home is finished but I would have no hesitation leaving this thing on high heat and not thinking twice about it when I leave my house. As far as the noise goes; it is extremely quiet on its highest setting and after it's at full temperature but on the 2 lower settings, you can hear a slight buzz. And when you turn the heater off, there is very audible creaking sounds as things expand and contract in there. I have heard much worse from other parabolic heaters though. The highest setting draws about 1,350 Watts so it's safe to plug in pretty much any outlet. (Just make sure no wire/plugs gets too warm) I expected more out of the timer function to be honest but it works great for hourly settings. If you adjust the settings on timer mode you will have to reset the timer. I would also like to add that this heater is not as bright as other parabolic heaters it is a much warmer Kelvin and the heat feels warmer than other parabolic heaters. I'm sure this heater would keep you very warm if you were to install it at a lower level in the room because it puts off a lot of rising heat as well (but then safety level goes down a little bit). Just typical heater stuff! Amazing product for what it is! Highly recommended; if you desire a remote and high safety in a parabolic heater!
