Works on my HP x360 Specter (2016 model with 2 USB-C ports). When connecting, Windows 10 complained about incompatibility; However, after unplugging, plugging in an HDMI cable and plugging in a multiport adapter and switching my TV to the correct HDMI input, the picture was perfect. Charging via the adapter also works, although Windows 10 displays a warning that it is better to use an HP charger. However, the first time the battery was charged to full capacity, there were no problems. If the laptop is off but the adapter is plugged in with no cables connected to it, I see a blue light on the adapter - does that mean the adapter is still in use? Some power from a laptop? I double check if the laptop was in sleep mode. I will update the review accordingly. Overall it's sad that I have to pay for one of these, but it seems like a good buy for plugging in 'old' USB devices and hooking them up to an HDMI TV. EDIT: Turns out the laptop has a BIOS setting that allows charging via USB even when the laptop is powered off. So I disabled that setting (I don't want to drain the battery), the light isn't on anymore. One note: plugging/unplugging the dongle is a bit more involved than the charging cable provided by HP. Just be careful not to pull the plug by the cable!
