I got this because I've been taking a lot of trips lately that require me to use my phone's GPS (Waze fan here!). I left it in my cup holder but I often look down trying to figure out how wide the curves are and I wanted to reduce the distance between my eyes and the phone and how low it is. The way my dash is set up leaves me with few options for brackets that mount this way. It would jam my radio or other controls, so it seemed like a good compromise. That's how it is! I love it - it really holds my phone up and the pan function means I can shoot portrait or landscape with ease. The adjustable grip around the phone is very easy to use. True, if you have a case on your phone it won't snap into place either, but mine is thin so I can still use it with ease. that I needed. Otherwise it would be too loose. Very happy with this purchase.
