Update year: This bar is really durable. I use it every day and it's only 30% smaller than new. A bar can last me two years. Ordered for family members. Another reviewer commented on the price increase, but the current price is only $1 more than what I paid for it a year ago. I bought this soap and the Art of Sport body bar at the same time. I wanted a charcoal soap with some texture but not like lava soap. You have to use it for a while before you get to the sandy part, but it's only slightly sandy. I don't apply it to my face or my whole body, just the parts that require more exertion. I tried it on my face but it left a film that I had to wash off with bath gel. The Art of Sport soap was more sophisticated and meant to be a complete cleanser, but it smelled like it was trying too hard to be manly (like the Ax soap). This Marlowe soap smelled more like soap than cheap men's perfume, and that's okay. Recently my husband's hands were covered in soot that Don and the brush were unable to completely remove. I tried him this soap and it removed the remaining stain. No wonder it removes antiperspirant so well.
