I have something similar at my workplace where I work in IT. I should have just bought the same one, but this one is newer so I figured it might have more success with my IDE drives. Now the connector's pins are bent and broken because we spent almost 30 minutes installing it in this ill-conceived POS. I can't get my data back until I replace the plug now because of that stupid power slider rate crap. Why do all IDE drives fit what I have at work without having to move the power supply until you blindly understand, but not this one? Then why not make the bottom transparent so you can see through the bottom and make the connection instead of just pressing down on the power plug and wiggling it back and forth? Don't buy this one. It's just not well thought out and you'll end up bending or worse, breaking the pins on your plug, then you're really screwed.
