When I received this product I didn't realize it was made of molded plastic - I should have read the description more carefully. I wanted it to be metal to better dissipate heat. In addition, the sides of the "fins" are completely closed, so NO AIRFLOW flows THROUGH the fins or the SSD; To be honest, I don't understand how the manufacturer can imagine that there is good airflow. Testing heat dissipation performance for a well-known military power company, I can assure you that any claim of good heat dissipation cannot be true. If a manufacturer disagrees, I'd be happy to review their thermal analysis for that product. A fully open compartment would dissipate heat better than this compartment. Using an SSD slot with a fan would be even better. Finally, the SSDs we use are electronic and should be cooled.
