UPDATE 180626: I was sent a replacement unit (express shipping) which arrived shortly and has worked great with constant use ever since! The front bay worked for a couple of uses, but now (data transfer between 27" iMacs) it doesn't even recognize AN Drive Y in that bay either. Therefore, to complete the job, I had to use a SATA to USB adapter cable. Worst $40 I've ever spent on tech. The change is pending review after helpdesk and support have responded.
