A quick review of the KYB line as the Dodge Durango/Dakota has all three to choose from: Red: like a truck, for big tires, for towing RV's etc - I didn't buy them . Silver: Gas-a-Just street performance, handling, and a smooth ride given the handling advantage. Black: OEM base replacement - I didn't buy them. KYB Silver Gas-a-Just wowed me AGAIN! My 2003 Dodge Durango R/T AWD 5.9L drives better than new! Steering is crisper, braking is better and cornering has never been better. Due to the OEM (float-a-matic) "shocks" there will likely be a slight loss in ride comfort, ours were worn out - the originals so I really can't comment on the original factory shocks. This money is very well spent on your car and you will not have to replace it again. The only thing better than these are high quality Koni or Bilstein shock absorbers and unless you race on the weekends neither are needed or better suited for street use. I have used these shocks on many of my bikes. Vehicles from the last 25 years. I first encountered them in 1990 on my 1968 Ford Mustang GT/CS 1/2 (California Special - 4 speed manual - 302 - disc brakes - real GT) after I installed OEM Shelby Springs and anti-roll bars - KYB Gas-a would have. -Prosto (then white) was the only shock absorber that was stiff and still allowed to ride comfortably on the road. The car was just as stable at 168 mph as it was on the freeway. Yes, seriously.
