Review on 3 in 1 Heavy Duty Apple Peeler, Corer, and Slicer with Suction Base - Durable Die Apple Peelers by Edith Massey

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality and failed after peeling 1 apple. I literally threw it away because it was junk.

I bought this after moving house and losing my much older (and amazing) apple peeler. I thought it was very similar to the old one I've been using for years, but using it was almost a joke. The first apple peeled normally, the top and bottom did not go beyond the curve, but the larger center of the apple was peeled. Apple. He sliced it up badly, and the metal slipping down the knurled arm lost traction and caused it to rotate in place, rather than pushing the apple forward so it could be sliced. Those weren't special apples. They were your simplest, at any store, medium sized and not even super crispy or dense. second apple The spring guiding the peeler arm failed and it simply dug into the flesh of the apple at one point, removing the flesh that was over 1/4 inch thick. The third apple, all set and checked. The hand failed to catch the apple and push it forward once there was resistance when actually trying to slice the apple. The peeler's hand broke the spring again and dug too deep into the fruit. I sampled a few more apples before throwing them away. The base of the machine is solid, but all other parts are very cheap metal. The suction cup on the counter mount was also very weak. I don't have any special counters that could affect this. It's just a poorly designed product that's cheaply made.
