I bought these to replace a pair of flush cutters which I got in a very cheap set. The steel on the previous set flipped twice when cutting half round 12G wire and I switched them to lighter modes after refinishing the edges. They worked great for a few days. Almost all of my jewelry tools are used daily since I roll them. They quickly dealt with the dead 12G soft wire I used to make rings and bracelets. However, I made the mistake of cutting a few inches of wire from the end of the cut, which was a bit rough and one edge of the tip was broken. To be honest, I didn't even notice at the time that this part was probably in my "coated scrap" bucket. I think I expected a lot from a cheap pair. For most people this is fine, there are no signs of edge distortion and they still function normally. The spring pivot is REALLY good compared to regular box springs and I will be leaving them for lighter calibers. However, you need a little more to reliably cut thick wires.
