Review on 🌬️ Tripp Lite Gen 2 SRCOOL12K Portable Air Conditioner - 12000 BTU (3.5kW), 120V, for Server Racks and Spot Cooling, Self-Contained AC Unit, in Black by Eugene Cox

It cooled my small server room. In the beginning (first 6 months only) it kept the temp at 74. I have our main AC valve and return in the room. I bought the unit on 10/27/15 and it worked fine for 16 months then it stopped blowing cold air and actually increased the temperature in our room if left on. I leave our thermostat on 24 hours a day in this room. For us, Tripplite was really a fallback and we hoped it would drop the temperature just a few degrees more than in the office and keep the thermal signature of our devices under control. We also kept it clean and cleaned the filter regularly. Not too loud but definitely louder than our servers. The vaporizer works, but on a hot summer day it noticeably collects under the device. Based on my experience with the SRCOOL12K I would not recommend this product as a long term cooling solution for your data room/server. We've tried almost all of the best practices for our room and followed Tripplites recommendations and found the results to be average at best. Considering that it only lasts a few months past the warranty, I would try another alternative.
