I don't like this fan. I have several standalone USB fans, one (Honeywell branded device linked below) for personal office cooling and others for electronics. In comparison, this Lasko model has a significantly louder and more intrusive hum and moves less air. Any efficient fan—one that moves a volume of air—makes some kind of noise; it's just basic acoustics. However, it turns out that in an effort to create a design that sets this device apart from other tiny USB-powered desktop fans, the developers made efficiency a secondary priority. By far the best choice is the Honeywell HTF090B Turbo on The Go personal fan. Black . Although it only has one speed, it's small, quiet, and efficient for personal cooling.
