Bought and received in July 2020. Worked great and cooked food with no problems. Fast forward three months and I smelled wax melting as I heated water on the stove. I looked under the block and didn't see where it was coming from. A minute later, the left handle slipped off the metal rod that fits into the device. The plastic around the pole has melted. The next day it wouldn't turn on and was abandoned. The hob got hot on the sides, but you couldn't expect the handle to lack a metal sleeve on the inside. I'm not sure how the melted plastic handle affects its power-on ability unless other parts melt inside it. I do not recommend. Stop making disposable devices.
