Review on SeeDete 16GB USB Flash Drives - Efficient Rotating Design with LED Light for Backup & External Storage by Doug Hook

I've used two of these sticks before. I filled the first one with about 120,000 files of different sizes. I then filled out 3 files of about 20GB each. It took a whole day to copy all the files to the first one. Copying files to the second took about 6 hours. In the latter (faster) case, that's around 3 MB/s. That's about 1/40th the speed of my gigabit network connection, or 1/6th of my average Wi-Fi speed, or 1/4th of my average Internet download speed. All connections go outside of my computer. USB 2.0 has a theoretical maximum speed of 480Mbps, which is TWENTY TIMES the speed I've seen at their best on these flash drives! When copying a large number of files, these flash drives were several times slower. I did not expect a cheap drive to reach the theoretical maximum. I was hoping for maybe 60% of the theoretical maximum and expecting closer to 35%, but I didn't think I'd get 1% - 5%! Guess I'll give away the remaining 3 of these on Craigslist and buy some. still. I've bought other flash drives of the same price and capacity that performed an order of magnitude better, so I'd like to try my luck by buying a different brand.
