The Stride Rite has let us down in the past and I honestly expected to return these shoes but didn't lose hope. I bought the 7.5W expecting them to be too tight, in other SR shoes we've bought we couldn't even get the front half of his foot in. To my great surprise, these are REALLY wide shoes and they fit my son. without pushing your legs. The elastic laces on the front are very stretchy and do not tighten. As for length, I'm glad I ordered half a size up. These shoes are almost the same length as his size 7 New Balance shoes, which is something to keep in mind if this is your toddler's usual shoe brand. The ones I ordered are wide and they fit more than I would expect from wider ones, which works even better for us because it's really difficult to find shoes that fit my kid.
