The description does not directly indicate , but this ruler is in the metric. There is also an extra layer of plastic coating. There are no instructions on whether or not to remove it, but since it started peeling I removed it. The ruler tends to "curl" under cotton but will regain its shape after a few seconds. It's also quite slippery.
