Who knows why cats like what they like? My cat Elvis also loves cardboard tubes from a paper towel roll. My sister sent him this "magic carpet" for Christmas and he loved it so much I sent it to his friend Mildred in Colorado! Elvis has absolutely no interest in catnip so I didn't even bother to put it in. At first he just liked to sit on it. But then he decided on tassels and pendants. When I wave a plastic stick under him, he grabs the mat. Mildred is basically rolling in it looking stoned. . sometimes you try to see what's underneath? I bought my cat a $150 cat lock that took him about 5 minutes to make. That carpet? He still loves it 2 weeks after Christmas. And it weighs a lot less than this cat lock!
