I bought this to keep my Alienware 17R4 cool. It does a good job. The noise level is negligible when I'm not gaming. The noise is louder but not annoying when the fans are turned on. I never use incline mode. I wanted the laptop off the table to allow air to circulate and it does its job well. The light complements my laptop. However, if the flashing lights are a trigger for you, you can opt out. I am very happy with my purchase.
