In my opinion this particular item is a "to each his own". It has many features that are either why you love it or why you hate it. I currently use this paper holder to keep all my scraps of paper which are color coded to keep my OCD happy and under control. The paper holder works well on my shelf, among other things, and doesn't tip over, but that's because it's between them. It is beautiful and has many compartments. It's expandable so I can stuff it when I need it or shrink it to fit my space/shelf/needs. The graphic design is nice and I prefer something simpler, even if I only see it when I take it off the shelf to actively use it. I like that the dividers are transparent so I can see across different sections. I like that the ends are sturdy and look like they will hold up to moderate use. For that reason I think it's perfect for my needs.Now for the bad. I realize that this article does not stand well on its own. It will fall over from time to time and everything inside will tend to tip out. Knowing this in advance is a simple way to ensure you don't leave it where that would happen. I'm not sure how this item can retain its other wonderful qualities and still be sturdy enough to stand upright when not stuffed. I think expecting that might be expecting a little too much. However, it's annoying to have to pick things up if you forget to make sure they're supported. If you plan on using this for business or frequent use, I can't attest to how well the plastic holds up to constant use. I don't use this item too often and it seems to me good and quite sturdy.
