The problem with the elbow pads is that the inserts are FLAT covers, without any shape. There are also no velcro straps or anything like that on the top ends to hold the pads. As a result, the guards don't stay in place and slip under your elbows in under a minute. Guards may be fine for inline skating if your hands aren't shaking, but they're useless for mountain biking. Mine went in the trash after the first use. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of FOX products, but this one doesn't work for me.
