If you buy this worm gear, it will cost you a lot more (both heartbreak and money). I bought this gear and installed it in my KitchenAid mixer. When I tried to knead the dough for bread, the mixer started to slow down and eventually stopped turning. I spoke to a professional who explained to me that the gear is cast on an aluminum part and the original part has a rough surface so the casting sticks to it, this gear has a smooth aluminum surface so there is not good adhesion between plastic and aluminum and therefore slips under load. Bottom line, I had to buy another unit (genuine this time) and repeat the hassle of replacing it (not to mention going without a working blender for a while). Do yourself a favor and don't do anything other than this part.
