I was planning to use it for mail and notes. Especially when I was working from home, I had to be careful to shred a few pages here and there. Nothing heavy. But I don't know what happened during one of the scraps that it was like a third of the blades had failed. About two-thirds of the paper will tear. But I didn't expect miracles. I finally bought a small electric shredder when I realized I was going to be home longer and my home was going to be my office for a long time. So I recommend this, but for ease of use. If you think of electric shredders, I say go for it. Don't waste your money if you buy this grinder,
