Even after reading other reviews I still ordered a size that was too small and had to return it. Little said it would fit waists up to 34 inches. I'm dead at a 34" waist and had to suck in my stomach to get the velcro on. These are not tight straps but are attached and held in place with Velcro and are adjustable. The problem is that even though I wanted a snug fit, the velcro didn't hold up because it was so tight, and no, I'm not overweight. I reordered a medium size which should fit up to a 38 inch waist. I liked the design of the product so I'm ordering it again as I haven't used it long enough that it needs to be washed, not sure how long it will last before it no longer stays closed like other products I have have tried. Size Chart ) In my opinion if your waist is at the bottom of the size list, go up one size as it is adjustable. I would say don't go down if your waist is 32 or smaller.
