Personally, I'm not a fan of the original beauty blender. I bought one, used it, and then the company's CEO permanently parted with their brand. But I liked the way the sponge worked, so the search for a suitable replacement began. This set was my first try. I'm good with my tools. I keep them clean with the leftover Beauty Blender Cake Soap I bought earlier, wring out excess water—but not too hard—and let them air dry in a room with good air circulation. However, if my Beauty Blender lasted six months or more before I passed it on to my daughter and moved on to these worn out ones, I barely had those six months before they literally fell apart. And after three months, no matter how thoroughly I cleaned them, the application went wrong and I had to switch back to a brush until I found another brand of sponge to try. If you don't use it much I can see they last long enough to be worth it. However, if you don't mind paying the price or supporting the Beauty Blender brand, I would recommend going in that direction. I will continue to try different brands of sponges because they just don't cut.
