Just got these in the mail and hung them on my small 3 foot tree. That's exactly the amount of light I like on wood, and my only complaint at the moment is that there are a couple of spots where two adjacent beads are programmed to show the same color, so you end up staining with one and the same Color glow side by side unless you're more willing to bend and cross wires than I am. They are connected to a rechargeable power supply. You have to be fairly close to the receiver to use the remote and sometimes it doesn't seem to register a button press. now i'm happy with it. The whites are harsh and cold, the pearls are inconsistent in hue, and the yellow is too saturated to substitute for warm whites, so you might want to consider other lights if you're hoping to have both on the same screen. Wood. The wave pattern gives them a very nice shimmer.
