My review refers to this product "Padarsey SATA Card 2-Port, PCIe SATA Controller Expansion Card, SA3002 Adapter Card". The motherboard recognizes this device immediately. It has its own POST screen before my motherboard's screen lights up - it shows the detected devices plugged into it. (Possibly this can be disabled in your motherboard settings to skip POST if you wish). You CAN have a boot disk on it - this worked for me. It has better speed than the SATA controller on my MSI 990FX-GD80 motherboard I ran this test on. Higher scores come from this device running in a PCIe Gen 2.0 x4 slot on my motherboard (all you need is a 2-lane PCIe Gen 2.0 slot to run it at full speed). These images are the same bootable OS SSD (Samsung 860 Evo 500GB) with only one device connected to each of the available SATA ports, so there were no competing drives/drives and I made sure that there are no main processes running to seriously affect the estimates. This device is ideal for adding two more SATA ports to your PC or increasing the speed of integrated SATA controllers for older boards. These are the only tests I have been able to run as they relate to what I will be using it for. If you have further questions, please read the product description or write to the seller/manufacturer. I highly recommend!
