I haven't used them much yet. I have a metal bench clamp and used it to tighten one of them to a hose fitting. However, the force I could apply exceeded the holding capacity of the locking mechanism and it loosened a bit. You can cut and bend the end to secure it, but only after you've tightened it as far as the small locking ball will allow. I still have high hopes for their convenience.
