Not too loud. not too quiet. Straight-through mufflers are best for airflow and sound. I thoroughly cleaned the throttle body and IAC and installed the air cleaner with Specter oil, new spark plugs and wires, now I can see the difference at idle and under acceleration. I didn't expect big improvements. After all, an empty truck weighs over 5,000 pounds. so I made the right choice with Magnaflow 12256 and 24" dynamic range. I used a micrometer to measure the inlet and outlet openings on my truck's exhaust pipes. Just to be sure. and checked the new muffler to make sure sure it fits too. so I didn't have to add all sorts of adapters and adapters and all that. Nope! It just slid open. and popped up immediately. Doing homework. 5-24-20 UPdate: 2 years later and sounds even better; more from that raspy sound we like. There is no drone. I used U-bolts and didn't weld them on and they held up great with no exhaust leaking or loosening. I measured how much was cut off the exhaust pipe and how long the exhaust pipe had to protrude beyond the cab of the truck to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the cab.
