We recently bought an old house with plaster walls and found that plaster is much stronger than drywall. Just screw something directly into the wall? Forget it! Use drywall anchors? No way - they suggest that the dowel can penetrate the drywall. No, this product is the ONLY method we have found to drive screws into our walls. You drill a 1/4" diameter hole (using the included drill bit or your own drill bit), hammer in the included bushing and screw it in. This works great. By the way, if you just bought a house with stucco walls, forget about it Don't get yourself a good drill.
