They weren't bad for hanging, I used almost all the zip ties to secure them and then trimmed the slack. It was about the perfect size for our 12ft trampoline with little left over so there is some overlap on one piece but it's not noticeable. I was worried about getting the battery compartment wet and didn't want it on the ground so I put it in a ziplock bag and taped it to the metal under the trampoline leg. A few weeks after I installed them, a blizzard came and covered everything in ice and snow. After everything melted I checked to see if the headlights would work and they did! So these are great flashlights that can withstand crazy weather if you just use a zip pocket to protect your battery. I love that it has a remote control and you can change the light patterns too.
