When we got rid of our cable box with clock display, we realized how often we looked at it in the evenings. This clock is large, easy to see from 10 feet away, and the blue color makes it less obtrusive in a darkened room. It's also great that you can unplug it from a USB port on a nearby device so you don't have to use an adapter or another outlet, and there's also a battery backup so it doesn't have to be reset if you use it separate a short time. I haven't used the alarm so I can't comment on this feature.
