First update to check: The installation guide is missing a *critical* first step which I'm increasing from 1 to 2 stars once I figure it out (we'll get to the reasons why in a moment). But first, both fans must be removed, otherwise installation requires two pairs of hands and it's still extremely difficult to screw in and apply the tension required for the spring-loaded screws. But remove the fans, and at least they screw in easily! So why two stars and not more? The first thing you notice is the lack of indication of the direction of air movement on the fans. Given that they advertise one inlet and the other outlet (and you will), and they've moved in different directions, it's not easy to know which is which. So how is it to be understood? Connect the fans to the motherboard, power it on and make sure they spin. Then take a piece of paper and see if it flies away from the fan or gets sucked in. Seriously, this is the best method I could think of and I couldn't find any research online that directs this fan kit. But that's not all. So you've got the fans working and now you want the LEDs to work, right? Have fun. They use 3-pin Addressable RGB (A-RGB) connectors instead of the standard 4-pin RGB connectors found on most motherboards. I'm currently looking for compatibility options, but it's not easy - I'll update if I find out. "But they claim to be compatible with ASUS, Gigabyte and others," you think. Not correct. I have an ASUS motherboard (Z390-A Prime) and the RGB capability is incompatible and the instructions are so poor you need to do a lot of research before you figure it out. "But that's ok, it comes with an RGB controller that I can use instead," you think. nope While it's best to connect with the included cables, if your motherboard doesn't have an A-RGB connector, the RGB lighting won't work (at least not with the cables that came with this unit). Again, I'm investigating options to resolve this issue and will update my review if I find a solution. But to be clear, there is no "converter" for 3-pin 5VA RGB bulbs to 12V 4-pin RGB connector that I could find, be it a cable or a PCI -Map. So, horrible instructions, customer support so slow it makes no sense, no arrows on the fans, and an unusual RGB connection mechanism. Many cons for a "premium" CPU cooler! This. you shouldn't care. look elsewhere Second addendum for review: Okay, *finally* there's a 5VA RGB to 12V RGB converter, and it's only about $10 on Revain! But it's not easy to find. Link for those interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QPYSC82. This makes RGB work on my Asus motherboard (although the number of devices/wires used is weird), so I'm bumping a different star since it's *nice* (and the temp sensor works too).
