Review on Anchor Hocking 5 Ounce Measuring Glass by Jennifer Roberts

This mini measuring cup is made in the USA (by Anchor Hocking in Lancaster, Ohio) which I always appreciate, and its size and size markings make it perfect for use in cocktails. I just doubt the markers will come off the glass without much maintenance. The glass even comes with a sticker on the bottom that reads "Dishwasher safe, some detergents may remove the decoration and etch the glass." Markings, and in some cases the markings have been completely washed out after a dishwasher cycle . Because of this, I only hand wash mine with mild dish soap, then rinse under the kitchen faucet and let dry on a kitchen towel or in a rack dryer, which is pretty quick and easy BUT I still wish Anchor Hocking labeled this jar the same way like his regular sized measuring cups. I've owned several of these for years and have never had to do any special maintenance to get the markings to come off the glass. If you're serving guests, you can also make a larger batch by changing the ounce to a cup in the recipe and using a regular-sized measuring cup. Cocktail shaker, shake, strain and pour. This cocktail fits perfectly in a 12 oz Libbey Vina martini glass and can be garnished with a lime wedge if desired.
