I really like them. They look great and are versatile. You could get four plastic boxes for less, but they would be obvious, not decorative. Here are some possible caveats: Pretty much the same as pictured, except they're a bit shiny. Not as bad as I imagined as they are plastic. You can't even tell it's plastic from a short distance. They are not technically sealed watertight. They're not very thick, so you can't stuff them full with heavy, dense items like batteries. You can do this as long as you don't move or lift the crate. The clasps are strong, but the bottom flexes a lot when you lift it. All this is not a disadvantage for me. I would really give 4.5 stars as the surfaces are so smooth. They easily slide apart when folded and lightly tapped. I'll probably stick those little sticker dots that you put on your closet and drawers to absorb bumps and put four on each of the bottom corners. Even then, I still wouldn't put anything fragile in it.
