Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

The watch is wonderful, exceptional pluses and subjective minuses are reflected above. They do an excellent job with the main task. In addition, I advise you to download and save the instruction manual on your phone / tablet, or take the paper version with you, because some settings should be configured separately when working on site, for example, calibrating the compass to true north. A fairly simple procedure, the instructions for which say not just how to do it, but the prerequisites and methods for its implementation. Separately, it is also worth mentioning the possibility of resetting the individual indicators of the altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer to factory values. That is, if correcting the barometer, you made a mistake and forgot the entered value, then it can always be reset to zero. The first days I had to charge them in direct sunlight so that the charge indicator stopped running from full to medium. When charging in the sun on the windowsill, I recommend either cooling them with a stream of air, say a fan, or, which is more relevant in summer, wearing them on your arm without a sleeve, then the heat will be absorbed by your arm. When charging on the windowsill, the case heats up very much and I doubt very much that this will have a positive effect on the well-being of the built-in battery. Although the instructions specifically mention that the watch, when charging in sunlight, can get very hot, which can lead to burns. And warnings about overheating and its harm to the built-in battery are not a word. In general, without fanaticism and more sober thoughts.

Pros
  • 1. Altimeter. The deviations of which within one day / hike / measurement and the accuracy of measurements deserve respect, and although the instructions say that these are not reference indicators and you should not rely on them, you can safely use them on a hike or at home. 2. Compass. Comfortable enough, although graphically not large, but with a digital display of the angle to the north. The compass is many times (if not an order of magnitude) more accurate than similar counterparts installed in phones and various non-professional household gadgets, besides, it is much more convenient to use it and always with you, with good battery life. 3. Barometer. A good helper to help predict the weather. But here the "brains" of the user are already required, if you like, then a skill, that is, you have to spend time. 4. Thermometer. Measures the temperature inside the case. Since the clock is on the arm, then the practical application can only be if they are located in a measured environment, for example, in a stream. 5. Sunrise-sunset. A pleasant, informative addition to everything, the main thing is to check, and, if necessary, indicate the correct coordinates of the position on the planet. 6. Case, strap, material quality, weight. Thanks to everything, they sit on the hand and feel pleasant, not burdensome. 7. The absence of overly bright and contrasting inscriptions on the watch, which is generally not typical for G-Shock. This was noticed immediately and was an indisputable argument in the choice. 8. Buttons and controls - everything is thought out and using the modes is quite convenient and intuitive. 9. Timer and stopwatch with a large measurement range. I did not know that previous models had a timer range limited to an hour.
Cons
  • 1. The altimeter after contact with water (even surface) goes astray, but continues to accurately measure current changes, the total height above sea level goes astray. It goes away after a day or two. 2. The backlight LED is more economical than luminescent counterparts, but why not make it more masked so that it is not visible when the backlight is on. 3. Could have made the timing unit in hours more accurate. Will explain. When synchronizing (automatic) everything is OK. But if the clock is offline for a month, then it goes by 15 seconds in 30 days. Which I consider a bad indicator for modern, not the cheapest watches, which also have a thermometer (well, you never know, the runaway may be due to a change in the temperature of the quartz oscillator). 4. Sunrise-sunset is implemented, but I don't think it would be difficult to add, if not segmentally, but on the matrix sector, the values of the phases of the moon. Now I’ll find a simple way to determine it with a specialist. 5. I'm not sure that I'll be right when I say that a more complex display could be supplied, with a larger matrix field, but I would put it, I would be an engineer.
