Review on πŸ” Nikon Trailblazer 8x25 ATB: Powerful Waterproof Binoculars in Sleek Black Design by Jeremy Meyer

Very nice, small and light binoculars at this price

Very good binoculars for the price (about seventy when I bought them) - great for travel or hiking if you take them as an 'accessory' . " or as a backup and they are not the primary purpose of your trip. If the primary purpose of your trip is to use binoculars (e.g. bird watching or similar) then these are probably not for you. I have them as lighter, more compact ones and cheaper alternative to my Monarch 5. Are they as good as Monarchs? Of course not. But they cost and weigh pennies and do a wonderful job. The good first: - Excellent quality for the price - sturdy, rubberized, durable, waterproof They will probably last many decades Good (not great) optics - they aren't as sharp as the Monarchs but ok Seventy bucks - Extremely compact They fold up into a nice square package that easily slips into a jacket or cargo bag fits when you exit the bag and unbuckle the belt Very light Good reliable focusing mechanism Good quality bag Exit pupil (i.e. the size of the image s when it hits the eye) is small starts out so you have to hold them very still - if you move them a little from the center of your eye you won't see anything. They are not ideal for use in the car or when your hands are shaking. They have retractable eye stops. The turning mechanism is too loose and they tend to move at the slightest touch or vibration. Not a problem when looking through them (because your eyes hold the overlays in place), but they tend to curl up when you hang the binoculars around your neck. The strap is a bit oversized and in my opinion hard. . I'll probably replace it with a piece of rope or take it off altogether as they are very light and don't rub my neck. When in doubt, always take it. They're not perfect, but very good for the price. I keep them in the glove compartment of my car and take them with me on all my hikes, unless I'm going somewhere special with the binoculars, in which case I take the Monarchs.
