the plastic lip that keeps the bag open is key to avoiding spills when using travel bags. I've tried cheaper flat packs, but it takes more effort (and greater risk of error) to keep the package open and in place during the process. these are the best. I also carry a roll of dog poop bags to tie up a used bag in case it leaks but to be honest never needed it. The gel inside holds the liquid very well.
