Four years ago I bought a Toto A100 seat and installed it on a Kohler toilet. It looked great and worked great. It offered everything I wanted. The heated seats came in extremely handy on those winter nights when we turned off the thermostat while we slept. Washing with warm water worked perfectly. In combination with Kohler porcelain we have the perfect combination. We have moved to a new location and decided to renovate our new home. I chose this built-in toilet, which has all the features I'm used to, plus drying, automatic opening and Toto porcelain. This toilet claims to be an excellent cleaning system. The truth is, if you don't want to look at yesterday's work, that toilet needs constant cleaning. In fact, I have to say that no toilet I've ever had was more prone to staining. With the toilet you can choose between a light flush or a full flush. Even many flushes will not empty the bowl. Have a brush ready. Kohler porcelain is stain resistant and uses less water. This toilet tries to clean itself as soon as you sit down. It would be nice if this feature actually worked. This more expensive built-in option also includes a dehumidifier. You must be patient to be of any use. Probably enough patience for a few newspaper articles. This more expensive built-in option also offers automatic opening and closing. It is impressive from the start and has some value for night time visits. The problem is that there is no way to adjust the sensitivity. When we enter our bathroom, whether it is a sink, bath or shower, this device opens. It's kind of annoying. A few months after going to the bathroom, we started having mysterious puddles in front of the toilet at seemingly random times. Because of this and the toilet's inability to resist stains, I contacted Toto's tech support. They asked me to send photos of the installation. I was told the problem was that I didn't use the Toto check valve. Apparently because the Toto valve had a different finish my plumber didn't use it and didn't keep the original. Now they won't service the toilet until I spend $70 on their check valve. I think the last solution here is to rip out the toilet and send it back. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose exactly what I had before: a Kohler toilet with a Toto seat. I would get anything I wanted without all the things I don't care about.
