BUYERS ATTENTION! The soft fabric is extremely dense. However, they are finely trimmed and because they are cotton, they shrink a lot in the dryer. These socks are very long reaching to the knee and incredibly at my height of 6ft 2" they are worn ABOVE the knee and it is comfortable for me to roll them down. When shrinking, they become very tight on both the foot and lower leg of a normal size. . DO NOT buy them if your calf is larger than usual - they will be very tight and uncomfortable. Putting them on one leg and a normal sized calf is a real challenge. Once in place they are snug and won't slip. DO NOT purchase these socks unless you can order ONE FULL SIZE UP than you normally wear (to compensate for shrinkage). Simply put, if you order a large size, it will indeed be medium, and if you order a medium size, it will actually be small after washing. Hope this helps someone.
