When I started doing my own nails, I couldn't rationalize an expensive drill. At least not until I knew I wanted to continue for longer than like a month or so. I ended up completely forgetting about the idea of upgrading because this drill worked perfectly for about a year before it wore out. If you're not sure that you'll stick to nails for a while, or you need a quick replacement while your expensive one ships, this will meet your needs. I would not recommend this for regular salon use, though, as it does get hot after a while. I only ever did 1-3 sets a day when I was using this one.
