I bought these glasses to store tea in bulk. shelves and they look amazing. My first and only complaint is the quality of the lids. Many reviewers have mentioned an odd smell and I can confirm that the wooden lids smelled like wood stain or sealer. It wasn't overwhelming, I was more or less happy after a few washes with soap and water. The big problem, however, is the rubber gasket that creates a seal between the wood and the glass. It is thin and used to bridge a wide gap. This makes the seal quite loose and means the lid doesn't always sit in the center of the jar. The pressure moves the lid to the point where it's not even covered by the glass anymore, as shown in the attached photo. There is also a small hole in the seal present on all four, which appears to be intentional to break the seal and ease in removing the lid. I don't know what that ultimately means for the freshness of my tea, but I wish this liner was a bit more durable and the seal was airtight.
