Review on ๐Ÿ“ Anytime Tools Cylinder Measurement 0 0005 by Mike Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good for the price, but not without flaws.

Very good for the price but not without problems. There is a plastic sleeve around the dial indicator and is optional. You mount the dial on top of the grip you will be using and then clamp the shell onto the grip. There is a plastic sleeve on both of my handles that the housing is pressed against. In my set, the handles were different sizes. Fits in one box, doesn't fit in the other. I took it apart and found that the finish in this area is not the same on every grip, the area for the dial attachment was ok but not for the case. It was like a handle was too big so they just put a big plastic sleeve on it and figured it was fine. I took the one that was too disassembled, put it in my lathe and turned it to size. Then I made the sleeve the right size and put everything back together. Now everything fits correctly. Using the tool worked well. I immediately used the small head to test some of the jack holes. When I put the correct size sensor in, I found that it can be screwed in too far and the mechanism binds. After setting it up the way I needed it, everything was fine and the measurements worked fine. I have found that some things can be repeated. This set reminded me of other cheap imported tools I've bought, they usually work well but sometimes require a bit of tweaking to get right. So after spending an hour getting everything working as it should, I'm happy with the tool and its price. Even without "Fix" it will do its job out of the box. The reason I'm giving it 5 stars despite the issues is because at this price point you can't touch it and that wasn't a deal breaker for the show.
