I usually buy Whistler or Cobra brands because they are in my price range. I googled radar detectors and found comparisons to $300 and $400 brands. This Cobra 9670 was rated as the best. I find the Cobra to be easy to program and the instructions talk a little bit about each option you have in the settings. The compass doesn't seem to be working properly, but maybe my GPS was right next to it when I calibrated it, so delete my dash and see if that helps. Cobra has saved me a lot of tickets over the years. You just have to remember that as the leading car you hardly have a chance to brake. when the radar detector is triggered. I always try to have a car in front of me so I'm warned of the radar ahead. I also have a Cobra in my wife's car and it has saved her a time or two. You'll pay off in an avoided ticket! I like the power saving mode, so if it stays on; You don't have to worry about a dead battery in the morning. For the money this is a good buy.
