Economic Windshield Repair Kit

The kit contains 2.0ml of resin, slightly more than other kits. The applicator design is the same as the Rain-X brand I've used for years, except it has a metal internal thread at the base. I'm not sure if the metal threads will help with the results, but they won't hurt either. I used it for the first time today on a deep 1.5" bullseye, the worst I've ever had. It's turned out better than I hoped and my bad windshield will last another day. I had to apply resin 4 times to build the piece that was taken out. For the last 3 uses only a few drops were used to fill the hole covered by the plastic piece. I live in rural Tennessee and travel a lot of miles so I've had a broken windshield many times. I'm certainly no professional, but I've successfully repaired around 40 bullseye and cracks on several vehicles over the past 10 years. Never apply UV curable resin in the sun. If nothing else, ask someone to hold the umbrella. The resin cures quickly, meaning it won't crack unless left very watery. If you have not yet repaired windshields, read the instructions several times. The experience is good. Keep in mind that even professionals can't fix most damage without at least being a little noticeable. Some people have high expectations. A few tips, maybe off the charts: Have some paper towels handy. Wipe excess tar off the windshield after you're done with the strips so you don't have to use a razor to remove the stains. Use disposable gloves (it's best not to expose yourself to the resin at all, although it washes off nicely). Cut the plastic sheets to a size slightly larger than the repair. Store resin in a separate zip (it can leak) and plastic wrap in another zip so you don't lose it. Then put everything in a gallon Ziploc.
