I'm learning how to use free traffic. In my entire sewing life (I'm 62) I've never dropped my feeders. When the kids grew up and flew away, but there weren't any grandkids to sew for, I decided to throw myself into the very popular field of sewing. Slowly, but only beginning with a little free movement work. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and wanted to try the foot adjuster I saw in one that has the clear plastic ring cut wide and the metal bar bent back. from the needle bar. This keeps the foot from bouncing up and down with each stitch on my machine and allows me to adjust the height of the foot from your fabric by wrapping the elastic around the top. I had trouble bending the stem with the needle nose pliers on one of the legs so I just cut it off. I know it sounds confusing and crazy but it works really well on my machine. See drawing for explanation of modifications.
