The downside to this pump is that the filter is not easy to clean and gets dirty incredibly quickly. In our little fountain with 9 3 inch goldfish. loudly he fell sideways, which was more the case for our goldfish, since he has a current in the shallow water. I'm glad we bought. Ideal for our application.
