I'm giving 2 stars because I don't think it's fair to give 1 because I'm sure my experience with the product won't be for everyone.1. It doesn't smell strong for a human, but when I smell something, I know that my German shepherd, who has an excellent sense of smell, can smell it from miles away. My dog usually drinks a lot! bowls and bowls of water per day. As soon as I put it in he got excited because he saw me doing it and thought it was some kind of treat, but when he tasted it he stopped drinking. Even after running in the heat, he approached the bowl and then turned away. He didn't even drink a whole bowl of water a day. On the second day of use he drank a little more, maybe 2 cups, but I think it was because he was very thirsty.3. Made my dog sick. At around 3 a.m. after the second day of taking it, he kept getting sick. Now my dog sometimes vomits after eating or drinking a lot and switching to a lot soon after. He will need about 2 hours after eating before he can walk around, play ball or do anything else if he is about to vomit. If he vomits clear white foam or just dog food with a clear liquid. But when he started throwing up at 3am it was very different, it really looked and smelled like diarrhea, it was brown and smelled like poop. I wasn't sure if it was a product or maybe he had eaten some grass that might have been sprayed on during our walk. My dog doesn't go outside except for his 2-3 walks a day. So I knew it couldn't be anything else. On the 3rd day I gave him no and only fresh water and he seemed fine. Just more pushy than usual. This is my Velcro dog but he wanted me to keep him all day (he's a 75lb German Shepherd puppy, he's 1 year old) so I don't usually keep him! In the middle of day 4 I thought he was eating some herb with something sprayed on it so I decided to add more product to his water but diluted it from 1 teaspoon to 32 ounces of water like they did say, from 1 teaspoon to 8 ounces. He didn't feel like drinking it again, but after a long walk he drank it anyway. When it was time for bed, he misbehaved. He didn't want to sleep, didn't lie down on the bed, finally lay down on the bed, curled up, his head thrown back, but it wasn't a dream. His eyes looked absolutely pathetic. I knew he wasn't well. He moved all night and was sick again in the morning. Now I know it's the water additive. I will not give it to my pup again, maybe there is something natural I can give him without chemicals. I'm sure this works well for most dogs and cats, but I wanted to let people know that this made my dog really sick and throwing up what looked like a bowel.
