Doesn't even last 30 days

Bought on 11/23 and simply thrown out on 12/18. I set the device to the lowest possible level. The declared 45 days just didn't last. I think I could unplug it or plug it into a timer outlet when I was at work so it would last longer. I feel close to 20 days of use.
